Drive Traffic with Social Networks
Over the last several years, a new breed of communication has
emerged: social networking. These media sites offer the ability to
network in ways that the more traditional message boards never could manage. If you are not familiar with social networking at media sites, here are some of the tactics people are using today to make money through these important resources:
1. Start with Twitter. If you have never done social networking, this is easily the most basic of all the current popular sites. Registration takes no more than a few minutes.
2. Fill out your Twitter profile. It will give you the appearance of being a permanent participant, and help you build credibility more
quickly.
3. Post some links. They can be to the articles you have posted around the Internet that track back to your web site, as well as to pages on your site.
4. Do some searches. Use keywords to find other Twitter users that
may be potential clients. Use the follow feature to create a connection.

By doing some detailed keyword research and identifying some profitable niches (either using Google Keyword Tool or through Google Hot Trends) and then following the steps above, you can earn money fairly quickly online.

Win or Lose with Twitter
Twitter can be an excellent marketing medium. Note that I said marketing and not advertising. If you use Tweets to advertise then you are going to mark yourself as a spammer and ruin your business. However, give good content rich tweets-information that people will use and given time, they are going to follow you back to your website or blog. Content is king and advertising is sudden death.
Of course, for Twitter to be a good marketing platform, you need a ton of followers. Not only followers but targeted followers. Initially, I found the best method was to follow my competition and then follow their followers. I would follow about 20 a day and if they did not follow back, I would unfollow them in about 10 days. This method works extremely well but it is very time consuming and time is something that you have to invest very carefully.
After a while, I decided to try Tweet Tank. Boy, did I get a bunch of followers. Unfortunately, the followers could have cared less about my tweets and along the way I picked up a bunch of spammers. I don’t need Viagra or penile enlargement and I sure don’t need to be spammed. It only took me a few days to realize that untargeted followers were a waste of my time.
The I came across Tweet Adder. Targeted followers and, in fact, tons of them. Tweet Adder gives you the ability to follow people by setting up keywords and that is their key to getting the type of followers you want. Not only that, after 10 days, if you follow someone who does not follow back, the Adder will unfollow them. Now that is a neat trick.
One thing to stay away from in the Adder program is the auto-Tweet function. Remember, Twitter is a social network and the auto-Tweet just turns you into another spammer. Stay with the traditional content rich tweets and you will get traffic.

In Praise of Live Marketing Events
If you don’t attend live marketing events and seminars, you are missing out on a major business building opportunity. Yes, I know that you can get the same information out of an E-book, CD or DVD but, you cannot get the same human interaction as you can at a live event.
Most marketers that are successful, regularly attend live events and seminars. This is not because of what is happening on-stage but, what happens during the breaks in the event.
Live events give you the chance to build relationships with other successful marketers and as a result, you may end up with new partnerships, JVs or just some great info on what is working for other marketers. You will build new friends in the business and this will help build your business.
You will find that most of people attending these events are not newbies but successful marketers who came to the event not to hear the on-stage presentations but to network with other marketers to help promote their business.
So, next time you get the chance to attend a marketing event or seminar, sign up and build relationships that will ultimately make your business a success.

Blogging Lesson 10
Part 10 – Interactions Between Blogs
As your blog’s content increase, people in your niche will definitely mention you for intelligent or interesting discussions. This is, in a sense, an initiation of an interaction. When people speak of you, you should thank them for the mention and build up the interaction!
When you use a traffic tracking script such as the free www.statcounter.com, you can see where traffic comes from. If a large number of visitors come from a certain blog, you can be sure they have mentioned you in their latest post or linked to you from their sidebar or links page. What you should do is pay them a visit, leave constructive comments on their posts and build up a conversation!
As you continue doing this, you will start to gather a lot of friends in your niche. This is helpful later on when you decide to do collaborations such as interviews. In fact, when you’re out of ideas for writing on your blog, you can interview other blog owners in your niche! Human beings are curious creatures, so naturally they would like to know more about a person whose writings they read so often.
If you’re using Wordpress, Textpattern, MovableType or any other advanced blog engines, you can also post trackback links on your posts. This means you can post an article about what other people have posted! Your particular post will then appear as a link on that post you have written about. This is definitely a great way to get traffic if you post brilliant insights about a post on a very famous blog. Since the famous blog already has a per-existing pool of readers, this is like a shortcut to hog their visitors! The only thing you would want to observe is to keep your posts sensible and insightful, or you’ll be viewed as a spammer.
On the other hand, if you’re using Blogger, you would not be able to use trackback links. However, you can post insightful comments on other people’s blogs and subtly include a link back to your blog. You can make it seem like you’re pointing to your blog as an extra reference to the subject of discussion. Of course, this technique is not only limited to Blogger users and users of other blog engines can employ this strategy as an additional traffic source.
